It's summer and it's been a while since I wrote. Last I was talking about the pandemic and the costs it's posed on my supply chain. Those costs haven't decreased, but the uncertainty of future rises has to a degree. The last few times I've been to the plywood distributor I've anticipated possible further price increases, but that hasn't happened. So other factors have mostly calmed down and it's down to my own personal life and production abilities.
This summer I'm spending a lot of time with my kids. Due to their age and the absence of school this time of year that keeps me pretty busy. Because of this I'm doing about a half-day in the shop, and the rest with them. This means production is a little slower for now, but it will pick up in the fall.
Many customers find me initially from the Etsy platform, and if you visit me there you'll see I have few things available. This is because I only post fully built pieces there. Often I'll build some pieces, then an order comes in from this site, and the piece never makes it to Etsy. This is fine and good, but it explains my minimal presence there. As I pick up again in the fall you should see inventory there expand again. You can always purchase from my studio site here and if it's not built yet I'll built it to your order and let you know when to expect it.
Thanks for reading about my work. Stay out of the heat if you can.
